Rated 4 out of 5 by Great for costumes Admittedly I used this as a costume headpiece, not as a light fixture. To that end, however, it functioned great. The plastic is for the most part study and translucent enough to keep people from peering it. Nevertheless it gives way to Dremel tools for re-shaping and modification. Great for any Doc Scratch (which I used it for), Deadma5, or Pops from Regular Show cosplay! July 28, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Durable and took a beating. I feel slightly silly writing a review for this item since I will never use it for its intended purpose, but I also suspect I put it through as much abuse in three days as it'd get on top of a lightpost for a year or five. I used this for a costume. After cutting two holes in it with a hacksaw, it was still holding together nicely. Since the costume wasn't such that I could wear it continually, I carried it by the holes I cut - no cracks until the third day of doing this, and even then the cracks were where I had cut a sharp corner - a big no-no when it comes to cutting holes in acrylic, but I digress. The main point is that it took a beating and still held together. If I had a streetlamp which needed a globe on it, I'd be comfortable and confident that this would work well and for a good long time - I suspect it would get less abuse fifteen feet in the air than it did when I was carrying it through a crowd of 19,000 people! (note: you can't see the holes mentioned in the picture posted. They're in the neck for my head to go into and in back for ventilation.) September 1, 2011
