Rated 5 out of 5 by High quality durable bulbs. I love the color of the Plusrite 20k bulbs. Not as blue as other bulbs but that's a plus. Colors pop but you don't have that hazy blue look you get with the far more expensive bulbs. These bulbs are also very durable. My tangs like to splash water around during feeding time. When they splashed my Coralvue Reeflux bulbs they would crack and break immediately. The Plusrite bulbs are far more durable and once they cool down, I can just wipe off the salt splash marks. My zoanthids on the bottom of my 30" deep tank used to stretch for light under Reeflux bulbs. With my Plusrite 400 watt bulbs they look fantastic. They've grown so much it's time to frag them. Their colors pop without the need for supplemental atinic bulbs. I highly recommend them. June 7, 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good for reef tank I have a mixed reef saltwater fish tank and the bulb is a great price but the shipping is just as much as the bulb. I am used to 20K coralvue or 20K sps (same company) and the 20K bulb here is more like a 12K or 15K. It is nice and bright for good growth and enough blue to make corals look good but if you like it really blue where you do not need actinics this might not be the bulb for you. If you have a commercial or grow out set up then this is an awesome bulb. I would not have a problem buying this bulb again. I also bought the 175wt MH 20K SE bulb at the same time and the colors are the same which is a plus. March 30, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for the money! I have been using these bulbs for years. Great color and my SPS corals do very well. Why pay upwards of $70 to $80 for brand name bulbs when these do the job for a fraction of the cost! February 12, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Bulbs I have to admit, I was hesitant to try one of these bulbs as I was not sure of the quality it would be for such an inexpensive price compared to all other outlets for MH style lights. After having this bulb operating in my Aquarium with two other 175W MH lights (that i did NOT purchase on 1000bulbs.com) one of the other bulbs NOT PURCHASED HERE has already died while this 400W MH bulb that i DID purchase here is still blazing away.... Great product + inexpensive pricing = SUPER VALUE!!! i will be ordering more, now, if only 1000bulbs.com would carry the 175W(20,000K) MH lights that i need it would be a perfect world! Rated 5 out of 5 by Great price and value Third time I have ordered these bulbs and they work great. Good value for the money. July 2, 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Bulb for SPS Reefs My corals all have great color under this bulb. Keep in mind that once it is burned in its more 14K than 20K. My corals all have great Polyp extension, Color and Growth. I bought several bulbs at once to save on shipping. June 30, 2011
