Rated 4 out of 5 by Good but lights buzz when on a dimmer Without a dimmer, these lights are fine, although I feel like they flicker a little bit. I noticed when I was mopping the floor that there seemed to be a bit of a strobe light effect on the mop. It's subtle, but disappointing. I had to try three different dimmers for these lights. I recommend visiting Philips' website and getting the list of dimmers that they tested these bulbs with. I bought a dimmer that they recommended, and that's the only one of the three that worked well with the lights. On all of the dimmers, the lights make a buzzing sound. However, the lights can go very dim when matched with an appropriate dimmer. Also, I can't see any flicker once the lights are dim. Philips says on their website that these bulbs have to be used with a leading edge dimmer, which is your typical, cheap dimmer designed for use with incandescent bulbs. I bought a dimmer that said it was for LED bulbs, but it didn't work as well--the lights wouldn't go very dim before going out. So if you get these lights, ignore the packaging on the dimmer, and get an incandescent dimmer, preferably one that Philips has already tested with these bulbs. These lights aren't a dream come true, but they work and I have yet to see any LED candelabra bulbs that seem any better. November 3, 2013
