I use these in the bathroom lighting bar above my mirror (a line of bulbs sticking out from the wall). They look great, burn cool, and I presume they're cheap to run (I never look at my electric bill anyway). My review is based on this type of application.
The projection is about 180 degrees (hemispherical) and ends perpendicular to the bulb orientation - the wall space behind the fixture isn't well illuminated (which isn't a big deal for me), but also if the bulbs are "higher" than the level of the mirror, there's a dark zone close to the mirror. So if you are shaving - no problem, you're probably far enough from the mirror that your face is in the light pattern, and thus well lit. If you're popping a zit with your face directly under the bulb (with the bulb mounted on the wall), there's a problem. Close in, you're in the shadow zone where the light doesn't project. It's not bad enough for me to change bulbs, but from a lighting perspective it's not as good as the hot burning, energy-hungry halogens I used to have (which had a more complete lighting pattern that threw light into every corner of the room)

Rated 5 out of 5 by michaelonlongisland Perfect replacement
This LED bulb is the perfect replacement for decorative, clear 25 watt spherical bulbs in chandeliers, sconces, etc.
Not too expensive, very long lasting, and very similar to the incandescent bulbs we replaced. I recommend them highly.

There is nothing wrong with this bulb, in fact it looks great, but it's too bright to use as a make up mirror bulb. I currently have 22 incandescent G25 bulbs on a dimmer around my vanity mirror area. I replaced one incandescent bulb with the LED G25 and it gives off the same amount of light, but the inside light point (where the filament used to be) is so bright I can't look at it. My dimmer works with it, but I have to keep it on the lowest setting making the remaining 21 incandescent bulbs so dim they are useless. Maybe they could come up with a clear bulb that one can comfortably look toward without hurting one's eyes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by EndlessVision My clients are very pleased with the illumination of these bulbs.
The bulbs are great. They look very modern and classy. However, It Was Difficult to Locate a Modern Compatible Dimmer. After talking with the engineers at Archipelago, the compatible dimmer is rated for Incandescent Bulbs ONLY. Nevertheless, once my crew installed the cheap dial dimmer the functionality of the bulbs exceeded my expectations.
It is my opinion, the supplier of the bulb should have the knowledge and be able provide a list of compatible products or hardware. It's more than just buying a bulb.....

Rated 4 out of 5 by DavidW11 Very pleasantly surprised
I had tried a number of LEDs that looked like this bulb in different sizes. Normally these bulbs were not bright enough. I was leery because of the low lumens. However, I was very pleasantly surprised with how this worked in my bathroom. My wife insists on good light with the right color in the bathroom. These bulbs have met her stamp of approval so far.

We are very pleased with the light from these bulbs. We purchased 21 of these to use in our European cafe light string. They are brighter than other led's we have purchased that were the same wattage and they don't look like they are a led. We are very pleased with them and plan on getting more for our other outdoor lighting projects.

Rated 4 out of 5 by mitch5 this product solved my hot dimmer switch issue
I used these bulbs to replace 60 watt bulbs in a16 bulb chandilier foyer fixture. My amp draw went from 6.83 amps down to .33 amps on the high dimmer switch setting. Though not as bright as the 60 watt bulbs, they work great because we seldom had the dimmer turned all the way up. Now it stays all the way up all the time, and the color is a good warm white.
